I'm so glad for the modernization of XC bikes. My local XC race is adopting more wrinkles every year including adding a few rock features, a few additional jumps here and there, ect... I'm already pushing my 120/115 just riding that course.

hmmm... not so simple in practice... it looks more complicated than the park tool tutorial and the steps are different... sram tutorial is not very helpful... that's confusing... I just changed my sram eagle chain by counting (several times) the number of links and now I can't reach the 2 smallest sprockets anymore...chain was about 4 years old but that's quite a lot... i don't think limit screws became unadjusted so I suppose the only right thing to adjust is: the barrel... but could the barrel adjust that much space? ... let me see.

#AskGMBNTech I saw a chart from the pros closet and it showed that 54% of XC World Cup wins are riders using RockShox suspension. For the Downhill world cups 68.2% of the winners are using Fox suspension. I this is the case for these two disciplines then why aren’t riders using the more commonly winning brand? I know sponsorships happen and all but don’t the racers want every performance gain that they can get?

Hydraulic derailleur next

I have a 2009 Specialized Epic. It came with 100/100mm travel, 29x1.9 tires on i18mm rims, 3x9 drivetrain, and road bike like geometry. The new Epic comes with 120/120mm travel, 1x12 drivetrain, 29x2.3 tires on i30mm rims, and progressive modern Trailbike geometry. I consider all these changes are for the better.

I still like riding the SC Blur from 2021.

XC changed, yes…but lots of world cups riders are still running 100mm to 110 suspension and no dropper.

They need to have a retro or vintage class for 26" riders. Modern geometry & new tech is phenomenal & truly much nicer to ride, but much like riding single speed there is just something spiritual & nostalgic about racing/riding old tech.

a bike fit only really works if your going to spend all day sat in the saddle and not move around the bike otherwise it's kinda wasting your money just go with your ball park frame size and tune the components to get the fit you need.....how the bike feels is way more important - i'm 5'10 and only ride small bikes - 70mm stem and 125mm dropper

ok so basically the tuning range of the suspension is not enough for her weight, too much damping.

This test they don't break But they do break with sudden pressure. Seen them snap on downhill riders bailing.

Where are those pristine and dry fire road trails you’re riding on? I went out for a run last night and almost ran into a thunderstorm…. and the trails are basically still swamps! 😂

Scales should be level for more accurate results

My first Mtb is a 29er trail bike with 130mm travel and its a beast on the trails for me. But of i ever have the chance i would love to own an enduro but at the same time i could probably just upgrade my fork and shock with some that have more suspension travel.

My chain skips a little at the quick link on one of the mech wheels. Why? I’m sure it’s on correctly. It’s driving me crazy.

Air compressor are a must, why use a chemical, etc to remove water when all you need is compressed air. Bearings will never stay wet it's a must have.

Would be interested to see this repeated with the same shape/size/manufacturer of bar to minimise variables, but with two more bars in both 31.8mm and 35mm clamp sizes - i.e. 4 bars total, carbon and alloy, both in the different clamp sizes. Renthal Fatbars might be the ticket? I'm convinced 35mm bars were a step backwards in comfort and going from a 35mm carbon bar to a 35mm alloy bar to a 31.8mm alloy bar recently has been eye-opening!

Wasn't the question about bike storage about bike stand, not work stand.... So stress on the wheel mainly?

Ive always had aluminium frames and clamp on the top tube, you only need to tighten it lightly just to hold it in place. Ive never understood why you would clamp it on the seat post as i would have thought it places alot of stress around the seat tube area, especially with carbon. frames.

I have to say, Owen has quickly become one of my favorite presenters… keep killin it!!!

I loved this video. I have a Specialized AWOL from 2018 which is still going strong. More gravel than mountain or fitness bike. I will stick with it for the multi use it offers with racks and other features like your Canyon.
